Before pursuing yoga and complementary therapy I worked as a nurse for 20 years. I felt the need to slow down and connect with myself more deeply and wish to share this with others. My previous experience gives a human and practical depth to my yoga teaching and complementary therapy. I have a wealth of experience working with people from all walks of life and with people living with a variety of conditions and disabilities. The yoga and treatments I offer are open and accessible to all. The best thing we can do for ourselves is look after our physical and mental health as well as connecting with a deeper sense of meaning. This allows us to live a happier, healthier and more fulfilled life, ready to face life’s inevitable challenges.
I have been practicing yoga myself for over 20 years, undertook a British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) Foundation Course in 2017 and completed a 3 year BWY yoga teacher training course in 2021. I am always working on bringing Yoga into my life ‘off the mat’ (as well as on it!), trying to stay connected with a deeper sense of self and not getting caught and lost completely in the outer web of life. For me, yoga opens up another dimension of my inner world. This brings the possibilty of a sense of something much bigger than my individual self. An inner world I can keep returning to for guidance and repeated attempts to return to my more authentic self.
I am always learning and developing to expand the depth of my offerings.
I volunteer at a local hospice as a complementary therapist, where I also run well being groups. I have also taught yoga on a research trial into the benefits of yoga for people living with cystic fibrosis.
